This December, LeAnn Rimes is spreading good tidings by performing select holiday shows around the country. Back on October 27, Rimes released her One Christmas: Chapter 1 EP, the first of a three-album holiday series (Chapter 2 is due out in 2015, and Chapter 3 will follow in 2016). The six-song collection offers renditions of “Silent Night, Holy Night”, “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas”, “Blue Christmas”, “Hard Candy Christmas”, “Someday at Christmas”, and “Carol of The Bells”. Christmas is certainly a sacred holiday for Rimes. In 2004, she released her first Christmas album What a Wonderful World. Last Monday, Rimes was featured on ABC’s CMA Country Christmas, and last Wednesday she performed live on NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center.
Last night, LeAnn brought her One Christmas Tour the Sands Event Center last night in Bethlehem, PA. Rimes got the evening off to a running start with a vigorous version of “Carol of The Bells”. From there, LeAnn proceeded to drop more holiday hits and share storied about her love of Christmas. “It’s tough, because I’m a Virgo, so I’m all about lists and organization,” LeAnn explained to the audience. “So, this year, with being on tour, I’ve pretty much had to do all my shopping online.”
Rimes also expressed her love of being on the road. “However, if I were home doing all my shopping, I wouldn’t out on the road playing music for you guys.” For that remark, Rimes received a roaring round of applause. LeAnn’s passionate Christmas spirit exuded from her throughout the entire performance. She’s truly inspired by the holiday season, and you can hear it in her voice. Whether you’re a LeAnn Rimes fan, a country music fan, a Christmas music fan, The One Christmas Tour should be at the top of your wish list this year. The tour wraps up on January 17 at the Golden Nugget Casino in Lake Charles, LA. Ticket information can be found at LeannRimesWorld.com/Tour.
